Exploiting object oriented methods for multi-modal trip planning systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
An object model of multi-modal transport networks is developed with particular emphasis on applications in trip planning. The model caters for both public and private transport modes, and incorporates spatial and temporal data. A uniform approach to optimum trip nding across multi-modal transport networks is developed. The multi-modal network is spatially ordered using a quadtree storage object for eecient storage and access.

Public Transport Ontology for Passenger Information Retrieval
Passenger information aims at improving the user-friendliness of public transport systems while influencing passenger route choices to satisfy transit user’s travel requirements. The integration of transit information from multiple agencies is a major challenge in implementation of multi-modal passenger information systems. The problem of information sharing is further compounded by the multi-l...

متن کاملDeveloping an Object-Oriented Testbed for Modeling Transportation Networks
The objective of the paper is to discuss the development of an alternative representation of the transportation network using object-oriented GIS. This representation is important for the supply side of transportation planning and modeling. Object-orientation provides a way of solving the problem in a planar network for routing. It can facilitate the calculation of detailed network characterist...
متن کاملEffect of family structure on urban areas modal split by using the life cycle concept
The modal split model is one of the steps of the classical four-step travel demand planning. Predictive, descriptive, and prescriptive modal split models are essential to make a balance between travel demand and supply. To calibrate these models, it is necessary to detect and employ influential independent variables that are related to characteristics of travel modes, individual and family attr...
